Tourism economics

The Tourism economics programme is dominated by an entrepreneurial approach to tourism. Business competences, orientation towards innovativeness and an international perspective are the programme’s key features. The curriculum takes into account changes in global tourism resulting from the development of new technologies, new forms of communication, the sharing economy, start-up ecosystems, as well as sustainable production and consumption.

 

Tourism economics graduates are prepared to run their own tourism businesses, as well as to work in operational, analytical and middle-management positions in tourism companies. The programme is designed particularly for future employees and managers of independent and chain accommodation facilities, international and national tour operators, traditional and online travel agencies, local and regional tourism organizations, organizers of meetings and business events, as well as managers of tourist, entertainment, recreational and catering facilities.

 

Distinguishing features of the programme:

  • entrepreneurial orientation of the curriculum corresponding to the needs of modern tourism business,
  • focus on modern forms of tourism business,
  • emphasis on the role of sustainable development in tourism.
